Things I’m looking forward to in 2010 #3
The (somewhat awkward) musical progression timeline of my life looks a little bit like this crap and simplified diagram that I’ve just drawn in less than a minute:
Yeah that’s a good 10 years of my life that I spent obsessing about new soul artists, especially anything that Kedar Massenberg might’ve had a finger in, which is why I have some dodgy shit like the D’Wayne Wiggin’s solo album sitting on my shelf as we speak. Some purists didn’t even bother with neo-soul once we entered into the new millenium but I dragged it out right up until Angie Stone decided a duet with Snoop Dogg was the way forward…basically I stuck around long enough to buy J*Davey’s album directly off their Myspace and then jumped ship.
Admittedly I still keep half an eye on that ship, and if anything tickles my fancy, I’m ready to swoop down like a Somali pirate. So, Rough Trade captain of the Rox cruise liner, take that as a warning, I will plunder you wares and nothing can stop me!* (Evil, pirate-y laughter).
*Except apparently whatever beef Myspace videos has with WordPress (or vice versa), because I wanted to embed her new video for ‘My Baby Left Me’ and they won’t let me….my plan has be foiled. So you’ll just have to follow this link:

As for myspace/wordpress, it’s annoying but u can use VodPod (www.vodpod.com), basically this will let u embed just about ANY flash video into wordpress 🙂
